Tight

Playing tight, or being a tight player, is when the player folds a higher number of hands than most players would, waiting for higher quality cards. They are also usually a little more hesitant to call big bets after the flop, unless they think they're going to win.

These players minimize their losses by not wasting money on hands that they believe will not win. But when they do enter a pot, the table usually knows there's a good chance he's holding a decent starting hand.
