Kicker

The single highest card used to determine the winner in close hands.

For example, if two players both have a pair of aces, but one player has a jack and the other has a ten in their hole cards, then the player with the jack wins. The jack is referred to as his kicker.

I know I had a low pair, but I had an ace kicker, and thought that was good.
